He stepped onto the stage to go over his lines one more time, only to find Alfred already standing at the edge. He was looking out over the chairs, lost in thought. “O-oh, Alfred?” Said man turned and smiled. “Why are you here?” “Just thinking,” Alfred replied. “You?” Arthur breathed a laugh. “Just nerves, I guess.” Alfred paused for a moment before walking across the stage towards Arthur. “Wanna practice some lines?” “We don’t have you.” “Naw, I’m a little fuzzy on the dance scene.” Alfred held out a hand to Arthur, to which the man took with a hesitant smile. Alfred had been casted as the main protagonist in the play, while Arthur was his co-star and love interest. It was to end tragically and most of the play was heavy, but the dance scene was one of the few truly romantic parts. And it was also when the characters first revealed their affections for each other. Alfred put a hand on Arthur’s hip, taking his hand in his. Arthur finished the position by putting his other hand on Alfred’s shoulder. The music was to be mainly of violin and cello. Alfred began humming the tune, making Arthur laugh. It helped to ease away the awkwardness of the situation. They danced together slowly. Alfred had radically changed since their first time dancing. He fumbled often and stepped on Arthur’s feet a lot to the point the man snapped at him and told the director he would not dance with Alfred again until he felt his toes could be safe. Now he could dance with his eyes closed. His hand pulled Arthur closer suddenly, and they were close. This was off script. They should be saying their lines. Why was Arthur not saying anything or stopping or telling Alfred to get back on track? Why was Alfred putting his head on top of Arthur’s? For the same reason their hearts raced and their palms grew clammy. Then, Arthur leaned up and kissed Alfred; something that was to never happen in the play. And yet, it was needed to complete the two. Perhaps a little improv would be okay, as long as they continued with this affair after the curtain fell later.

I need to rec more often whoops.  Anyway, go read, review, favourite, whatever :)

Love Game

Pairings: Italy/Germany

Synopsis: Sex. Italy topping. If that isn’t reason enough to read this I don’t know what is.

Why you should read this thing of beauty: Germany/Italy is a pairing that so many authors struggle with (myself included) but this author writes both characters so well, avoiding the cliches that you so often see with this pairing (and with the Italy-tops-Germany trope.) It’s gorgeous and sexy, and the writing is controlled and so lovely. The love between the two characters is so very clear, and their relationship is wonderfully realistic.

Warnings: Sex, mild s&m themes.

APH Fic rec!

Yup, I’m recommending stuff again because a) I am a wonderful human being, and b) I know I’ve been super-slow at updating fics recently. I’m at university, go easy on me chaps.

Wit of the Staircase (part one) (part two) (part three) (part four) (part five)

Pairings: Mainly Franada, with USUK, Spamano, and some PruAusHun.

Synopsis: Yeah yeah, another high school AU, but wait. This is honestly the fic that restored my faith in the high school AU. Basically, it’s about loner Matthew having a crush on super-popular manwhore Francis. They end up getting together, but Matthew doesn’t realise it’s because of a bet…

Why you should read this thing of beauty: The characterisation is superb. Francis never once comes across as a pervert or a rapist, Matthew is not a complete blob who bursts into tears because everyone forgets about him, and their relationship is painfully beautiful. The USUK is just as heartbreaking, whilst the Spamano and the complex mess that is Prussia’s love life is hilarious. The writing is also gorgeous and Matthew immediately feels like your best friend. One of my favourite fics of all time, and definitely my favourite Franada.

Warnings: Sex. Language. And it’s not finished yet (the author is kind of slow at updating) but there’s loads written already, so it’s definitely worth a read.

Hetalia fic rec

Decided to start doing fic recs because why the hell not. I’ll do one at a time because this is my blog, and I do what I want, okay?! Anyway, let’s get this show on the road.

The Tower of Learning.

Pairings: SuFin is the focus, but there’s also bits of Spamano, DenNor, GerIta, and PoLiet

Synopsis: Highschool AU (don’t run away! It’s actually really good.) Basically, Finland is the new kid at school. He becomes friends with Sweden, who has a HUGE crush on him, right from the off, and struggles to work out how to deal with his feelings/get with Finland. Along the way there are a great deal of high jinks relating to their friends, and their insane headmaster, Spain (!)

Why you should read this thing of beauty: It’s a GOOD highschool AU. The characterisation is fabulous. It’s fluffy, but never sickening, and everything is perfectly believable. The main reason, however, is Spain, and his daily words of wisdom to his students; complete with tomato analogies.

Warnings: Er, none that I’m aware of? I guess language (Romano is in it, come on) and drinking - they’re teenagers; does that even need a warning?
